Sample the stylish restaurants and café’s of the new Waterfront precinct, enjoy a film in the open-air deck chair theatre or sample some local culinary delights at Mindil Beach Markets held every Thursday and Sunday of the dry season.
During your four night stay at the Mantra Esplanade there will be plenty of time to add a memorable day tour to either Kakadu or Litchfield National Parks – two distinct areas of beauty brimming with waterfalls and refreshing plunge pools.
Day 7 – Fly from Darwin to Australia’s Red Centre and the natural wonder of Ayers Rock. Visit the neighbouring Olgas, marvel at the ancient Aboriginal art and watch the sun set and rise over the giant red rock known traditionally as Uluru.
After an overnight stay pick up your rental car and begin your outback self drive adventure. First stop is the magnificent Kings Canyon and a chance to walk around its impressive rim from where the expanse of the Outback is clearly visible.
After an overnight stay at the Kings Canyon Resort travel on to Alice Springs - a town rich in pioneering spirit and Aboriginal culture. Experience the beauty and romance of the outback and the MacDonnell Ranges by taking an optional hot air balloon ride over the rich red desert surrounding the famous township.
Day 11 – Fly from Alice Springs to the Queensland capital of Brisbane for an overnight stay at the Rendezvous Hotel before being transferred to the rustic and rural plains of Hidden Vale for a two night stay at the charming Spicers homestead. Saddle up and head for the hills on horseback or explore the acres of outback land on a 4WD sunset tour – sit back and watch the sunset over the Great Dividing Mountain Range.
